John and Diane - Updates!News & Stuff

May 30, 2008

My gosh what a long hiatus!
Sorry about that! We've been very busy the last few months as you can see. First I should start off by thanking everyone who sponsored us at the MS Walk this year. It was a huge success, we did it as a family and had a great time!

We've been practically everywhere in the last few months. We renewed our annual passes to Disneyland, Sea World, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. We may even still have the Aquarium of the Pacific membership open, I am just not sure about that one. The kids are keeping us busy of course, and we are in the process of getting a new playground set and sandbox for the backyard which will give them hours of (free) fun! It'll be nice getting a playset in the backyard...no more driving to the park for one anymore. That will be sweet!

Well, the big news of course is that we are planning a wedding to renew our vows! We're doing it for our Fifth anniversary next year and we'll be getting re-hitched in Hawaii. Invitations will be going out in a few months so look for that in a mailbox near you.

Finally, and probably the biggest news is that I am moving our blog! We will no longer be updating this site and instead you can go to a new site: chasedbythemamarazzi.blogspot.com instead for updates on us. It will basically be the same--pics and family updates--but there you will be privy to all of my random ramblings as well. Lucky you! And I will be updating that site more often, WAY more often than this one. I am hoping for at least once a week! So check it out and be sure to bookmark it! Because after this year, this site is history!

Oh and please make sure to email me your email address if you don't think I have it. Even if you are pretty sure I have it, please send me an email. That way we can keep in touch that way if you forget to bookmark the new site and this one goes the way of the Dodo. Love, Diane

Happy New Year Everyone!
Welcome to 2008! Well, we made it through 2007 virtually unscathed and we are anticipating a very happy and prosperous new year. I hope you are looking forward to the same!

First of all, we celebrated the new year at home, of course. Can't do much with two small children at home but John and I had our annual bottle of Dom Perignon and savored some french cheeses and fruit to ring in the new year. It was a nice, cozy night at home.

Next came Jack's very first birthday! We had a great Thomas the Train-themed party, family and friends and Jack had a great time. He didn't much care for his cake, I think he kind of got grossed out by all the frosting all over his hands, but that's okay. I have a feeling next birthday he'll get the hang of it much better. ;)

We are also now planning to participate in the MS Walk this year! Sean and I have done it before but this will be the first time we'll be walking as an entire family! Please see our team board (Team Skiff, of course!) and if you could, we would love it if you could sponsor either the boys or us as a team. That would be great! http://www.mswalk.com/teamskiff

Oh also, if you are family and you check this board for updates regularly, please send us your email address here so we can have your email address. Thanks so much!!!

Have a wonderful February! Don't forget to vote! ;)

December 27, 2007

Hi friends and family! I know, wow...two updates in one month! But this is for a great cause!

We entered Jack in a cutest baby contest online, and we would love it if you could vote for him! Here is the link to it: VOTE HERE! The contest only runs between now and next Tuesday, January 1st at 1 p.m. Pacific time! So please please please vote as often as you can! And if you could, please tell your friends to do the same! (Just send them a link to this page and tell them to click on the link or the photo below!)

The prize for this contest is a beautiful and LARGE pop photo of him framed and on canvas. We won one a few years ago for Sean and it would be great if Jack won one too! So please, vote as many times as you can! Here is the cute picture you're looking for!

Thanks so much, everyone!!!! And please don't forget to vote! We really need every single vote you can muster! xoxo!!!!

Merry Christmas, everyone! We hope that everyone out there reading is gearing up for a wonderful Christmas holiday with friends and family!

As for us, we are pretty ready and waiting for Santa to make his appearance tomorrow night! Sean is really excited and knows that its Santa's job to bring him presents, providing that he is a good boy. Let's just say, he's trying!

Our trip to Hawaii was fantastic! We saw pretty much all of the island of Oahu. We stayed at the Embassy Suites in Waikiki Beach and there was an ocean view from the hotel. We did so much we needed a good two days to recover from our vacation! We walked up and down Waikiki Beach, drove all around the island, visited Sunset Beach in North Shore, saw the Dole Pineapple Plantation, did an authentic Luau with kalua pig (baked in the ground!), and wore shorts and flip flops in the warm, sunny weather! Even though it doesn't really get that cold here in California it was a nice break from the chilly weather to be in 80 degrees again with tradewinds to take the edge off.

We also saw the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. I really wanted to see this because I know my Grandpa would have loved to see it himself. Pearl Harbor was the last movie I saw with him and I know he was very interested in this part of history. The feeling at the memorial was very somber. It was incredible stepping onto it and just being there. What an experience.

This was also Jack's first time in a plane and did great both ways! It was interesting to watch him, I think he knew he was somewhere new and seemed to take it all in in stride. I think he's a good traveler just like his big brother!

Anyway, just wanted to come on here and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful, happy and healthy 2008! xoxo Love, Diane and family!

November 5, 2007

Sorry its been such a long time since I've updated but there's been a lot going on, so please forgive me!

First, we've been pretty busy lately with birthdays! First in August it was Sean's 3rd birthday! We had a pirate-style party in Laguna Beach with lots of friends and family, an actual ship-wrecked playground on the sand for the kids to climb on and we just had a wonderful time. I can't believe my little baby is so old already too! He knows numbers, colors, his FULL name, age, the difference between left and right, and he learns so much every day. Plus he's got such an amazing personality he floors us with things he comes up with daily. He's so funny!

Our "baby" Jack is now nine months old! He is crawling, sitting up, and he can wave hello! He's got an infectious smile...and he can defintely hold his own when wrestling on the floor with his big brother. Guess why. He's a hairpuller. Yep. He plays dirty. ;)

Besides going through the annual Birthday Season (Sean's friends all have birthdays from August to October), it was also MY birthday. Luckily, John had to work in Las Vegas that week so we got to tag along with him! We were a little worried about the sleaze factor, but really Vegas has got so much going on its really what you make of it. So we stayed at the Luxor, went to M&M World, saw a 3D movie there (that Sean loved!), took a day trip out to Hoover Dam, saw the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, ventured over to Mirage where we saw the Dolphin Habitat and Seigfried & Roy's Secret Garden where the lions and tigers live! Sean had a blast, especially with the dolphins. For my birthday dinner we went to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Hotel and Casino and had LITERALLY one of the best dinners ever. Sean even had his very first escargot! And he didn't spit it out! He's our brave little guy!

In more exciting news, we are also going to be on America's Funniest Home Videos this Sunday, November 11th on ABC. Be sure to watch us! We submitted a video to them and they liked it so much not only are we going to be on the show, we are also one of the three finalists! So we are guaranteed to win $2000! Of course what was really cool was the experience. They picked us up in a limo, put us up in a hotelroom in Manhattan Beach for a few days, and basically treated us like rock stars the entire time! They even gave us a per diem to cover all of our expenses! It was a great time and we'd do it again in a heart beat. What is really amazing is that my Grandpa would have LOVED the fact that we made it on the show. As long as I could remember he was always taking videos of random things, and if anything funny happened he'd say "send it in to America's Funniest Videos!" Its just amazing, and a little reminder to me that he is still looking down on us since it actually airs on the day he passed away. Sorry to get so sentimental...I just know he would have been so thrilled we were on! And so, so proud!

WATCH THE CLIP!

Also, Halloween was very fun this year too! Sean was a firefighter (he picked the costume way before the fires) and Jack was a cute little kangaroo! Sean was so brave, we waited at the sidewalk and he went up to the houses all by himself! He said trick or treat and when they put candy in his pumpkin he said thank you like a good boy. Other trick or treaters' parents even commented on how brave he was to want to go up to the door on his own. Sometimes he did get scared, because of the decorations, but Daddy or I were right there to walk up with him...or in some cases, carry him away! lol! All in all, he did great. He TOTed for about two hours and he still wanted to do more! That little guy is nuts! ha ha! And Jack didn't do too badly either. We have a DOUBLE STROLLER so he kicked back in the back, and even dozed, while big brother did all the candy pilfering. We had a great time. :)

Finally, we are very excited because we are going to Hawaii! We booked it all today so its official...we're going to Oahu for Christmas! We were going to do a vacation in Washington, D.C. but we decided to do Hawaii instead--we'll wait to see the capital for when the boys are old enough to appreciate it. We are going to do a real Hawaiian Luau, see all the sights, take a drive around the island and just be tourists again! we love traveling and we were bummed we were grounded for much of this year. But now that Jack is older, and thankfully as adaptable as his big bro, we are making a return to traveling again! And what a great trip this will be... we are very excited!

Anyway, that's all for tonight. Its time for bed...just wanted to update since its been WAY too long! Take care! Diane

June 14, 2007

Well, so much has happened since I last updated! I suppose that's the way you can tell if we are busy by how much time I get to update this site! I mean let's face it, the less we have going on the more you'll hear about how boring it is so be glad we're busy! :)

First thing Jack's growing like a weed! He's almost 5 months old and already got his two front teeth in and wearing clothes that Sean was wearing when he was 11 months old! I wonder if this "little brother" is going to be the big brother. We'll just have to wait and see. He's also a very smiley baby and for the most part sleeps through the night (thank goodness!)

Sean is doing well too. In a couple months he'll be three years old! I have no idea where all the time has gone but he's grown up so fast already! We are trying to plan his next party. I don't want to do another party at home (too much clean-up! ha ha!) so we are either going to do Chuck E. Cheese or a bouncing place. We haven't decided yet.

We are also selling our house! We are moving back somewhere in South Orange County, so I'll officially be a real housewife of the OC (ha ha!) and we'll be way closer to John's work. It will be good being close again...he'll get to spend more time at home and with the family.

And also, through a series of events, my sister Jessica is now living with us! She's been so much fun having here, she's great with Sean AND Jack, offers help if I need an extra hand and she's even had us break out board games after dinner! I can't imagine what it was like before she came here a month ago either, she's really a great kid.

We're also finally planning our next few vacations. We are planning on going to Washington, D.C. in October to celebrate our birthdays. We figure what better way to get into American History (which she will be learning about in school) than to go to where much of it took place and see it first hand! In Spring 2008 we'll be going on another Disney cruise and then planning a trip to Hawaii at some point. John is also itching to go back to Europe--this time with the 5 of us--but we'll see when that happens. This time he wants to trek all through Europe, not just France and England. We are thinking Italy, and Germany as well as France and England. He was really impressed with Paris so I know at least that's on the itinerary.

Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update. Thanks for checking up on us. We're glad you still want to check up on the skiffs. :)

Diane
March 16, 2007

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Not much to say here. We're all sleep-deprived but coping, both Sean and Jack are growing like weeds and if official, they both love getting their picture taken! :)

Jack's doing great, he's been growing and gaining weight and he's looking more and more like Sean everyday! Sean is getting used to his little brother. I don't even think he remembers what it was like before Jack came into our lives!

Besides that, not much going on. We are just looking forward to a really nice weekend! Hope you have a good one too! :)

Love, Diane and family

February 15, 2007

Its been so long since I've updated this page! I apologize so much for taking so long to update you all but we have been just so busy here...with a newborn!

Yes, that's right, Jack David was born on January 22, 2007 at 5:54 p.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 3 ounces (a full pound lighter than Sean was when he was born) and 19 inches. When we first brought him home he lost a little bit of weight (as newborns usually do) but he is steadily gaining now and is a very healthy 3 week old!

Sean is adjusting quite well to the change too. He tries to help out, handing us tiny diapers, and likes to kiss and pat Jack gently on the head. He's a sweet big brother. So far, no jealousy, except during feeding time. Then he wants to climb in our lap at the same time.

We are starting to get into a routine a little bit too. Jack eats about every 2 or 3 hours and sleeps all day, and at night he's not into sleeping that much. So we aren't really sleeping all that well but its so worth it. Plus we know his restless nights won't last forever. So we are savoring every waking moment we can spend with our new son!

John was amazing during this pregnancy too. At the end there, I was put on bedrest. It ended up lasting 5 weeks! And John's work, thank goodness, was able to accomodate him working from home and helping out. But honestly, he did way more than just "help out". He ended up doing absolutely everything around here. He cooked all our meals, took care of Sean, put him to bed, took care of me. I am so lucky to have been blessed with such a caring, loving husband who would do all of this for his family...all the while taking it all in stride and smiling the whole time through it. He said it was a lot of work, but he was definitely going to miss us when he went back to work.

After Jack was born he got another 3 weeks off while I recovered from yet another c-section. Now he's back to work, I am much better and healing well and we ALL love seeing John come through the door after work. Maybe its the hormones but I am still feeling sappy about what a great person he is. I hope I don't embarrass him too much by saying so. ;)

Also, while we were in the hospital, my mom and Jessica watched Sean here until we got home. During which his rockin' personality came out. Check out this video! Click Here!

Anyway, just wanted to give the BIG UPDATE. Our family is complete, everyone is happy and healthy and now we get to look forward to our life together as one slightly larger happy family. :)

October 12, 2006

Here comes Autumn, our favorite time of year! We love the cold weather and can't wait to start wearing long pants and sweaters again. John and I swear we should have grown up in New York or somewhere where they have seasons...you just can't get that in California, but we try!

One of the things we've done lately is take Sean over to the local pumpkin patch and have him pick out a pumpkin for us to carve. He had such a blast! Here are some of the pics! (Click on the pics to make them bigger, then hit your back on your browser to come back here.)

We are also getting ready to go to San Francisco! John is taking us there for my birthday and we cannot wait to get there! John's only been there for business and it wasn't his favorite place so I am hoping to change his mind since we usually have fun no matter where we go.

As far as this pregnancy is going its going great! I am tired usually at the end of the day only, but otherwise there is no swelling, no bloating, and besides the normal stretching feeling, no pain! I am even sleeping pretty well...so so far, so good!

Well, that's enough of an update. Thanks for reading everyone! Thanks for keeping up with us! Diane

July 8, 2006

Splish Splash, its Summer time! The pool is officially open! We've been getting in and out of it since the Fourth of July and its awesome! (Even Potter has been getting in! lol) We got a brand new underwater cleaner so its even bluer and cleaner than ever! And we just wanted to officially invite all of our friends and family to come drop by anytime for a dip! (And don't forget the bubbly spa!) And we cannot wait to plan our first pool party! So come on by...the water's fine!

July 3, 2006

Long time no see! Once again I have neglected this site for a while. Sorry everyone! I promise I will make sure to update this more often as I know a lot of you watch this site for updates on what's going on with us!

The biggest news lately? We are expecting child #2 in February 2007! We are so excited and happy about the news! What was the BEST I think is that I found out on my brother's birthday (SO hard to keep it to myself though) and got to tell John on Father's Day morning! It was great, I took the home test, wrapped it up like a gift and gave it to him as one of his Father's Day gifts! He was so excited! You can see for yourself below as I took a video of it!

Click here to see our Video!

Anyway, before you guys start thinking we are some sort of *baby factory*, RELAX! This is absolutely going to be our last child so we are closing shop after this and savoring every moment of this pregnancy. I am just glad I won't be 9 months preggo during the Summer again. Man that was hard. Totally worth it...but definitely hard.

What else? Besides planning to go bonkers in our pool tomorrow for the Fourth of July with family and friends, not much. Man are we glad we've got a pool in this heat! And yes, family and friends, you are absolutely welcome any day, just come on over...we'll keep the pool heated for ya!

Anyhow, I think that's about it. Nothing too exciting. Well, besides creating a brand new human being and all. Roll

Later taters!

April 15, 2006

Hello everyone! Wow, I haven't updated this in a very long time so I guess I have a lot to mention.

We did end up going to Europe, which was an absolutely amazing trip. We spent a lot of time in London seeing all the sights, doing all the touristy things to do, then we took a train to Paris and visited Disneyland Paris, or EuroDisney as a lot of people like to call it. It was very nice, not crowded at all and believe it or not everyone in Paris was even friendlier than in London! We had a great time! Here is a dotphoto show of our trip if you care to see it:

Photos from Europe!

Then a not so good thing happened. The day after we returned from Europe my Grandmother suffered an anyeurism and died in the hospital. As most of you know she and my Grandfather raised me so it is a very significant loss to me. I had promised her that we would come and visit with our Europe pictures, and even sent her a postcard from there but she never got it. She will be very much missed but I have a feeling my Grandpa is happy to see her again.

On a brighter note, it seems we have resumed our traveling in the way we used to travel before we had Sean. He's older now and loves going places and he adjusts very well to new surroundings. So this last week we went to Orlando to visit Walt Disney World! He loved all the new things to see, its so much more fun to travel with a child now, to see all the new things through his eyes is really a treat. And what a coincidence that our friend Jeanneth and her family was there the very same time! Next month in May we are going to Mall of America in Minnesota, then on to Boston to visit my friend Stef and her kids Sean and Sadie! We can't wait! Anyway, here is our Dotphoto show of our trip to Disney World, enjoy! (Oh and just be warned, the first 20 pics or so is of our hotelroom suite in Palm Harbor at a place calle Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort. Its on the PGA tour, and this is the largest suite they have, so its possible that Tiger Woods stayed here! Neat, huh?

Pictures from Walt Disney World

Well, tomorrow is Easter Sunday. May all of you have a wonderful weekend with your families. Take care and talk to you soon! Diane

February 5, 2006

Happy New Year and Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Wow, I guess its been a while since I've updated this site! So much has been going on! Sean is growing stronger every day and he's started doing the cutest things. He now runs all over the place, not walks, runs. He says please and thank you, loves grilled cheese sandwiches, pretends to talk on the phone (complete with yes and no nods), still flirts with any female he meets, loves to be read to (unfortunately the same book over and over usually!) and he's got about 16 teeth! His sleep is amazingly good, like clockwork, even. Oh yes, and he is about to go on his first international flight!

We are getting ready to go to Europe, namely London and Paris! We'll even be going to Disneyland Paris! We are also planning to go to Disney World a few months after our trip to Europe...so that will make 4 Disney visits--Disney Cruise, Disneyland CA, Disney World and Disneyland Paris--all within the 50th year anniversary! I know, we're Disney freaks...but its all good...Sean's a shareholder in the company. :D

I am a little worried about France. I've been trying to teach John a few words like merci and s'il vous plait, but when he says them he suddenly develops an Inspector-Clouseau-meets-Rude-Frenchman-from-Monty-Python's-Holy-Grail accent. I'll have to keep working on him before we go, lol. And don't worry, I'll share a few pics of Europe when we get back. YAY! Have a great Valentine's Day everyone! See you all soon!

Diane

December 23, 2005

Merry Christmas everyone! We just got back from looking at the beautiful lights in our neighborhood after a wonderful meal at one of our favorite restaurants. We thought we'd have to go far to see nice yard displays but we were happily surprised to see most of our neighbors have really outdone themselves this year! I've never seen such meticulous displays--except for the work that John did on our own house! Its a winter wonderland! :)

Well, we're ready for a Merry Christmas with our little family and we hope you are too! Take care everyone! And have a happy and safe 2006! Love, John, Diane and Sean!

November 9, 2005

Hi everyone! Well, its Fall again! But it couldn't be more beautiful. The trees in our neighborhood are changing color and leaves are falling. Sean really has a good time playing out there, especially when he gets to ride his electric car!

Halloween for us was a blast! We had a lot of neighborhood kids come around and instead of just giving out candy we also gave out slide puzzles, plastic flutes and small bags of Doritos! Hey, we figured these kids may be getting bored with candy and want something a little salty to snack on! And we also ALL dressed up! Sean was a cute prince so naturally Mom and Dad had to be King and Queen! Here's our Halloween show, if you dare! lol!

My business is up and running too! We just got professional lighting, a few backdrops, Christmas props and John's giving me the time to do it! So I am officially open for business! Its so exciting, and Sean is such a good subject to photograph and surprisingly, so is Potter! He sits where I ask him to, looks in the right direction and is very patient. So patient in fact he sometimes curls up to sleep while I adjust my lights! lol! Amazing what a little cracker can do!

We are also looking forward to a wonderful Holiday season this year. We can't wait to have the full-blown Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings (mmmm...I can taste the turkey and stuffing already!), going shopping, maybe a trip up to the snow (for Sean's first time!) and I hear even Santa is going to make an appearance at our Christmas party! I can't wait to see the look on the kids' faces when he walks through that door! lol!

Anyway, enough of that. You have a wonderful November yourself! Love, Diane, John, Sean and Potter. :)

October 4, 2005

Happy Halloween everyone! Well, its not yet but its coming soon! We can't wait to take Seany out to a pumpkin patch this year and this time he'll be able to help us pick out the pumpkin!

And to the left is a pic of him in his Halloween costume! Yup, this year he's our little prince! And its only fitting (and quite a funny sight) that Mommy and Daddy should dress up like the King and Queen too! So we all got costumes! (A pic of that may turn up here so be forewarned!)

Sean is now walking like crazy, chasing poor Potter, playing peek a boo around corners, saying words and he still finds time to flirt with any girl in the mall who may pass his stroller. He's so funny, and its so cool watching his personality develop even more than before.

Well, all of our babies in our So Cal Mommies group had their birthdays! Its been a great first year with all of them. Its nice having great people to hang out with and share stories with that we've known since we found out we were expecting. And its almost surreal to watch our toddlers, yup, that's right, toddlers playing together while we take a gazillion photos of it all.

Perfect example, a couple weekends ago we all had a group birthday party together. There was music, presents, cake and a whole lot of fun!

Here is the bunch of us at the group party a couple weekends ago at Chuck E. Cheese (or as the cool moms call it, CEC!)

Happy Birthday babies! You're not babies anymore!:

Anyway, just wanted to jump on here and give a quick update. And to wish all of you a spooky but Happy Halloween!

September 27, 2005

We have a walker! Click on the link below to watch the video!

Sean Walking! I was sitting across the room from him yesterday and I started reading a book to him. I guess he wanted to get a closer look so he walked to me from across the room! It was incredible! He did it all on his own like he'd been planning on springing it on me for a while! I was so excited and when John got home we got to have him walk between us. Today I thought he might forget but he's been walking all over the place--to his toys, to catch Potter, its great! Such an exciting time, just wanted to share!

September 13, 2005

Sean turned One Year Old! We couldn't be prouder! And personally we don't think he's ever looked cuter!

Sean's first birthday party was a huge success, thanks to everyone for coming! It was great having you here to celebrate with us!

We also just got back from our crazy 14-day Panama Canal crossing Disney cruise! I made a show with all the pics, so click here to see them! We had a great time and we will definitely be going again. I wish Disney would start cruising up through Alaska because that's next on our agenda!

Beside that, all of Seany's friends are now turning one and its fun going to all the parties. We find ourselves very lucky to have such a great support system as we go through the same things at the same time. Plus its just plain fun to get together!

Anyway, that's it for now! Check back later for more updates!

July 1, 2005

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Sean is nearly 11 months old and we just took these new pictures to celebrate the holiday:

The last three are with Sean's first gal pals Ellie and Jadyn. What a ladies man!

Also, his first birthday party is coming soon on August 13th. Invitations will be going out shortly but please save the date now. :)

That's about it for now, please have a safe holiday!

April 26, 2005

Its been a while! Wow, so much has happened since the last time I updated this page. Sean is now rolling in both directions, trying to crawl (mostly with his face!), loves to stand, has 5 teeth!, reaches for everything, sleeps through the night and is eating solids! He loves carrots, pears, peas and biter biscuits in his mesh feeder. He doesn't really like green beans (just like Daddy), or beef with beef broth, yuck! And just recently Grandma JoAnn taught him how to wave hi and say it at the same time, but he only does it for her! Oh and we went to the beach for the first time too! First time was with the SoCal Mommies (there were 9 of them this time!) in Laguna and on the second trip at Aliso Beach Seany actually put his little feet in the sand and water! He loved it and was absolutely mesmerized by the waves!

In other news, we just got the backyard resodded so its nice and green like a park, got a brand new pump for the pool so its sparkling and blue and ready for swimmers (can you say 'pool party'?) and we got a new car! We sold our 2004 Saturn to my mom and got a new 2005 Honda Pilot. Its got all the upgrades including a DVD player with wireless headphones, heated seats and a moonroof! Its beautiful!

Basically we're a happy little family just four months away from Sean's first birthday! We can't wait! Well, that's all for now. Take care until next time!

February 28, 2005

Happy Easter! I know its a bit early but what do you think of our new Easter photos? We took them in our front lawn today and Sean was very patient with Mom and Dad figuring out the new camera. He can now sit up all by himself so taking photos is getting easier! He doesn't have to be laying down all the time. I know I've said it before but he's a dream baby...everything we hoped for and more. :)

***Look, we finally got it! Sean's first prize!***

February 18, 2005

We have teeth!!! Two of them in fact! I just got my new camera and the picture to the right is the first picture I took with it. He's getting so big, either sprouting new features or doing new things every day! We are so blessed!

February 11, 2005

Happy Half Birthday Sean!!! We can't believe its already been half a year! He's growing up so fast! And he just won his first contest!

He won the Cutest Baby Contest we entered him in! He wins the cool 4-panel "Andy Warhol" type pop print I'm showing above. Its pretty cool, can't wait to receive it, of course they said it will probably be up to 2 months before we see it. Still, its pretty cool. They even put his picture up on their website!

Anyway, that's basically all for now! Everyone have a great Valentine's Weekend!

February 3, 2005

Okay, I admit it. I broke down and entered Sean in his first popularity contest. So if you would, please visit this website, enter his number 25258 and please vote for him. I wouldn't have done it but the winner gets this cool Andy Warhol pop art thing (you'll see it on the website) and I could just imagine Sean's cute little mug on it.

Okay, enough of me being a beauty pageant mom...thanks. We appreciate your support. And now, I will shut my piehole. :)

We just found out we're definitely going on a 14-day Disney cruise through the Panama Canal! It basically goes from Disneyland to Disney World in Florida. We'll be leaving right after Sean's first birthday and my little sister is going along with us! We're so excited! Any more news on it and we'll keep you posted. :)

I know its been a while but Sean has been growing and changing so quickly and dramatically we've almost had no time to do anything else but watch him in amazement!

Sean is such a great baby. He is now 5 1/2 months old and laughs, giggles, tries to talk, sits, stands, plays with toys, and eats a lot. He's been to Disneyland twice already and he liked meeting the characters.

If he hasn't met you yet you need to get your butt out here to Riverside and say hi to him. That's all there is to it. If you don't then you're missing out on knowing a really great kid. :)

Here are some new pictures of our family! Sean is now 9 weeks old and we just took him to his first pumpkin patch! He pretty much slept the whole time, and was annoyed when he did wake up, but he ended up getting the biggest pumpkin they had, courtesy of his Daddy! Enjoy!

We just got back from doing a 4-D ultrasound of Sean and the pictures are incredible! Click here to view them! All we could say is wow! Enjoy! Love, Diane and John

The invitations for our co-ed Barbeque Baby Shower have gone out! Whether you can go or not, please RSVP to my mom Jo Ann (to the number on the invitation) as soon as you can so she can get a headcount. Of course, John and I would still love to see you there so please do try to make it!

So we've moved in pretty much to our new place! We still have boxes in places but we are pretty settled in so far. John just got a new barbeque (that he still needs to put together) but we'll be set for poolside barbequing this summer! The dogs are loving the big backyard too. Its fun watching them chase each other around, they are really funny!

We also have made the nursery a priority so its really the most put-together room in the house. See photos here! We are so proud of it!

Its a Boy!!!

We just had our second ultrasound and here it is! Click the picture to see it bigger. And....we found out its a BOY! They said he's around 8 inches long from head to toe and 12 ounces already and he is totally healthy! We are so excited! I can now feel him moving like crazy in there, we can tell he can't wait to meet everyone! Just wanted to share! Thanks!!! Diane

My how things have changed in a short amount of time!

What had seemed like a pretty well laid out schedule six months ago has now completely changed. We had planned a May wedding but now that has been put off. We have thrown having a baby, selling the home in Rancho Santa Margarita and the purchase of a new bigger house in Riverside all into the mix and all of these things--including the health and well-being of both Mommy and Baby--take priority over a wedding ceremony. The wedding will still happen (can't deny our friends and family a party like that!) but it will be put off for at least 6 months or so.

So hopefully by the time of the next update we will have photos of our new house for you to look at and maybe even a date for our co-ed baby shower set up by Diane's mom Jo Ann and John's mom Pat! It should be a fun event for everyone. Not too many cheesy baby games to play (well, just a few) but we are also toying with the idea of offering a raffle! For just the cost of one small package of diapers, you will be entered into a raffle for a huge entertainment basket filled with wine, cheeses, movie tickets, dinner for two certificates and other cool things not thought of yet. And at the same time you'll be helping us stock up for the overwhelming need for diapers we're sure to have very soon!
